These infused water recipes from Radnor Splash will keep you hydrated all summer, whilst providing a tasty alternative to plain water or sugary fizzy drinks.
The summer heatwave is here! It is well known that drinking lots of water is essential to staying hydrated in the sunshine. However, some people just don’t like to drink plain water because they find the taste bland or prefer carbonated flavours.
If you don’t like drinking plain water, try infusing it with fruit and herbs for flavour. Infused water is a great way to up your water intake, flush out harmful toxins from the body and boost your metabolism.
Fruit waters also make good mixers for cocktails and mocktails, especially with sustainable spirits.

To get the most flavour in your water, let your fruits infuse for at least 3 hours in advance. The flavours will have more time to infuse into the water if you let it sit for a longer period of time. If you prefer a strong flavour, allow the fruits to infuse in the water overnight before drinking.
You can eat the fruit after infusing water. However, just be aware that since the fruit is releasing flavour into the water, it will have less flavour and more water in it.
If you don’t want to wait for fruity-flavoured water, you can purchase ready-chilled fruit-infused waters online or at your local supermarket. However flavoured waters can have a surprisingly high amount of sugar, so be sure to check the label and choose a sugar free option.
Fresh infused water can be stored covered in the refrigerator for about six days.
